Introducing Swiss Gold Safe AG in Switzerland

Founded in 2006, Swiss Gold Safe AG is a private company incorporated under Swiss law, whose principal business is the secure, bank-independent storage of precious metals, valuables, banknotes and other securities. Its company headquarters are located in Altdorf, the principal town in the Swiss canton of Uri. Such a location is perhaps more than coincidental, because history reminds us that Uri was in fact one of Switzerland’s original three founding cantons. This confederate alliance forged a union of strong social, cultural and political forces which still defines the Swiss nation we see today. Even more than this, that original Swiss confederacy consistently supported the rights of individuals to conduct their financial affairs in private, and resisted all attempts to legitimise state intrusion. So it’s hardly surprising today’s Swiss commercial practice is still regarded as the gold standard for confidential financial service.

Why store valuables and precious metals in Switzerland?

Apart from its long-standing reputation for total discretion, which is always scrupulously observed, Switzerland has several other advantageous characteristics and features. By any measure, Switzerland is acknowledged to be one of the world’s most politically and economically stable nations. Within its borders, the protection of personal property remains as highly regarded as ever, and just as vigorously defended. And perhaps as a natural consequence of this trait, ever since the Second World War, Switzerland’s role and reputation in the gold business has continued to grow.

Today, Switzerland is recognised as a major centre for physical bullion dealing on the world markets. The country continues to maintain its historic ties with all major gold producers, and, as would be expected, a considerable number of respected gold refiners are also located in Switzerland. Trading in precious metals naturally creates a demand for secure environments, and Switzerland is globally renowned for its approach to security. This expertise has in turn allowed the country to also specialise in the storage and safekeeping of precious metals and valuables of every kind.

Switzerland’s physical location at the heart of Europe adds yet another layer of convenience for modern financial investors. Good communications and first-class transport links mean the country is easy to access from anywhere in the world. In addition, its tradition of political independence means that, whilst remaining geographically and domestically very close to the European Union, it is nevertheless governed by its own laws, and thus not subject to the financial regulations of that powerful institution.

Swiss Gold Safe custodial and storage facilities

The company offers a comprehensive selection of safes and vaults, all of which are in private ownership and guaranteed highly secure. These facilities include a bonded warehouse and cover everything from small safe deposit boxes right up to very large safes in custom sizes with a number of individual features. When required, and by arrangement, keys can be lodged with a recommended lawyer or notary in the local area for convenient access and safekeeping.

Security for all your valuables

Our storage systems and the protocols which support them meet the highest security requirements and are continuously reviewed and upgraded to match the very latest contemporary standards. We work collaboratively with select top-ranking Swiss insurers so that we can provide our clients with the best possible insurance cover for their property. During this process, no client data is ever forwarded to insurers, whose cover operates anonymously based on neutral identifiers such as the safe deposit box number.

Swiss Gold Safe will not retain keys for any of its safe deposit boxes. Both keys are passed on to the client, so all access to safes is solely the preserve of clients or their authorised representatives. Trained and armed security staff are always available to offer assistance if required.

Clients can choose from a menu of personalised, high-security storage solutions outside the banking system and far beyond any large metropolitan areas. For instance, as well as precious metals, a bank-independent safe deposit box (outside EU jurisdiction) can be used to store documents, data, cryptocurrency hardware wallets and similar valuables. In addition, all our private vaults are also suitably equipped for safeguarding items such as precious stones, fine art and other cultural assets.

Our valued clients range from commercial institutions through to private individuals and family offices. They share a high regard for our many years of experience, appreciate our bespoke service, and trust our proud reputation for competence and reliability.
